Town Hall

The majestic building of the České Budějovice Town Hall is located on Přemysl Otakar II Square. and is part of the city conservation area. Originally a Renaissance building, it was built in the middle of the 16th century. The current representative appearance of the historic town hall is from the Baroque years 1727–30 by the Schwarzenberg builder Antonín E. Martinelli.

Přemysl Otakar II Square

Přemysl Otakar II Square. it is famous for its regular square floor plan and an area of more than one hectare. It is thus one of the largest square squares in the Czech Republic. It bears the name of the founder of the city, who was the Czech king Přemysl Otakar II in 1265. The square was laid out already when the city was founded. 48 baroque and renaissance houses with arcades around its perimeter add to its interest. All the houses except the town hall belonged to the wealthiest citizens or nobles. They still stand today on their original medieval plots and for the most part have a Gothic core. Their current form comes from the Renaissance or Baroque period. Since the foundation of the city, the square has served as a basic orientation point, a place for holding markets, secular and church celebrations and executions. You can determine the exact location of the gallows on the square by the so-called stray stone - the only remnant of the original pavement. It is located a few steps from Samson's fountain (where the bell tower originally stood) in the direction of the Hotel Zvon.

The tomb is located near Třeboň, about 1 km from the Třeboň castle, in the English park, on the southeast side of the Svět pond. Jan Adolf II was mainly responsible for the construction. Schwarzenberg with his wife Princess Eleonora.

The original project of the new tomb was designed by the prominent Austrian architect Friedrich Schmidt. However, he was not sufficiently familiar with the problematic subsoil, so the princely builder Damasius Deworetzky modified it according to local conditions.

Třeboň is a town in the district of Jindřichův Hradec in the South Bohemian Region, 22 km east of České Budějovice, in the Třeboň basin on the Zlatá stoka between Svět and Rožmberk ponds. Prague Castle

An ancient symbol of the Czech State, the most significant Czech monument and one of the most important cultural institutions in the Czech Republic.

Prague Castle was most likely founded in around 880 by Prince Bořivoj of the Premyslid Dynasty (Přemyslovci). According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Prague Castle is the largest coherent castle complex in the world, with an area of almost 70,000 m². A UNESCO World Heritage site, it consists of a large-scale composition of palaces and ecclesiastical buildings of various architectural styles, from the remains of Romanesque-style buildings from the 10th century through Gothic modifications of the 14th century. The famous Slovenian architect Josip Plečnik was responsible for extensive renovations in the time of the First Republic (1918-1938). Since the Velvet Revolution, Prague Castle has undergone significant and ongoing repairs and reconstructions.

Charles Bridge

The oldest bridge in Prague was built on the site of Judith's Bridge, destroyed in a flood in 1342. The Stone or Prague Bridge, called Charles Bridge since 1870, was founded in 1357 by Charles IV and completed in 1402. The bridge is built of sandstone blocks and is fortified on both sides by towers (Malostranské bridge tower, Staroměstská bridge tower). From 1683 to 1928, 30 statues of saints were installed on the pillars of the bridge, the most famous of which is the statue of St. John of Nepomuck (M. Braun, F. M. Brokof, etc.). There is a preserved Romanic relief of the original bridge inside the smaller Malostranska bridge tower (depicting a sitting person, probably the ruler, passing a document to a kneeling one - there are different interpretations of who the persons might be and on what occasion).

The foundation stone was laid down by Charles IV on the 9th July 1357 at 5:31 a.m., and the date and time have not been selected randomly.
